National Socialist Movement Comes to Omaha

advertisement

The supporter section began to fill with people. Some had driven as far away as South Dakota. Normal, everyday looking people. Not the radical, freakish societal outcasts the media portrays the Pro White movement as.

The NSM arrived in two City buses. They parked and walked perhaps 150-feet to the rallying area directly in front of the Mexican Consolute. I was very impressed at the speeches the NSM members gave. Very intelligent, very factual and powerful. No "@!$%#" no "Hail Hitler" No "kike" no "spic" or any other racial epithets were used. I found the NSM to be very organized, very professional and very fearless.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This event had very little national coverage, but there was a brief clip of it on CNN. The CNN footage made it appear to be very dramatic, but looking at the photos in this blog entry it appears that it was very limited and probably for the sake of a few cameras only. The target was the Mexican consulate - interesting that supporters came from many states closer to Mexico to attend the rally.

Local news coverage confirms that this was a small event - hopefully this is something that doesn't become someone's talking point, but the footage is in the can now, so it will probably have a life of its own.

Don't believe what you read. The fact is there were about 7 people in the supporter section. Two of them black. I am guessing they were lost. 52 NSM members and about 100 anti NSM protestors.
